With 6 years experience working with recruitment of which nearly 4 years have been spent as a Specialist Revenue Management Recruitment Consultant. For just over three years I headed up the Revenue Management Division of an established recruitment firm based in Hertfordshire, I covered the whole of the UK and international roles based in the Netherlands, France and Dubai.
Throughout the last three years, I have been building credibility within the industry I came to love as well as recruiting professionals into the largest brands in the hotel and travel & tourism industry. I was the first to arrange and host a Revenue Management Leadership meeting which brought 14 heads of/Directors of Revenue from some of the most influential brands in the market. We discussed common challenges and how to overcome them and the future of the industry, due to the success of that event we started to arrange them more regularly. This meeting then became a desired event to get to and we had to add seats to the table to accommodate the interest.
"Due to my continued success in the Revenue Management Industry, I made the scary decision to start my own business and provide the great service I believe in and move away from the traditional transactional way of recruitment".
I was hugely influential in the production of the first Revenue Management Salary Census which was a massive success not only with candidates in the market but also the employers. To finally give a detailed document to the industry and allow people to understand how salaries are changing was incredibly important.
I organised and secured the first contract to sponsor the prestigious HOSPA Revenue Management Learner of The Year Awards which celebrates the academic and practical achievements of our future commercial leaders. I am a genuine supporter of developing others and this event celebrates exactly that.
After 30+ years of Revenue Management being around, the hotel industry had never taken a graduate with no experience into a full-time permanent revenue management job. That was until I conducted a number of lectures at the University of Glion and managed to secure roles for three students within three different hotel brands. Now, as well as recruiting I also conduct lectures and run. workshops at some of the top universities in the world and gaining employment for the students I work with.
Due to my continued success in the Revenue Management Industry, I made the scary decision to start my own business and provide the great service I believe in and move away from the traditional transactional way of recruitment. I now own and manage Edwards & Finn which specialises in Revenue Management Recruitment.
More recently my business has also focused on working with regional charitable organisations that focus on trying to get young people between 18-25 into employment. The organisations I have been working with help young people coming from difficult backgrounds, broken homes and drug addiction. it has been my absolute pleasure to start working on this incredibly meaningful project because it is something I can relate to and is very dear to my heart. That area of the business is growing organically but at a great rate!
I suppose that gives you a better idea of who I am, what my background is and what I am passionate about. Please stay tuned with the business through our social media outlets including LinkedIn, Instagram and Youtube as we are progressing incredibly quickly and of course if you are interested in working with us do not hesitate to contact us!
